To ease your time sitting out the current COVID-19 crisis at home, we organised a quiz on Pinterest, called ‘Guess the destination’. Not in order to win something, but more in order to test your topographical knowledge and above all to be inspired for your next trip!

As of 20 March we have been posting pictures on Pinterest to keep up the good travel spirit while keeping safe and healthy! Now that the coronavirus measures are gradually being relaxed and phased out, we also complete this “Guess the Destination” quiz. Today is already the last day of the quiz. We hope that thanks to the quiz, your desire to travel is still in good health despite the coronavirus crisis.

  • Day 66 – This picture was taken while driving along Route 66 in Arizona, USA. Check out our website regularly or joint our trip around the world in 80 songs to get inspired further for your next trip!
  • Day 65 – This picture was taken in Zurich, Switzerland. Most people know Switzerland’s largest city only as a financial centre, home to FIFA and the gateway for a winter sports holiday in the Alps. But Zurich is so much more!
  • Day 64 – This picture was taken in Huacachina in the Ica region in Peru. You can climb the dunes around the oasis of Huacachina. But the real excitement comes from a buggy tour including sandboarding.
  • Day 63 – This picture was taken in Dublin, the proud and vibrant capital of Ireland. We’ll publish a blog about Dublin sometime this summer…
  • Day 62 – This picture was taken while hiking the Kalalau trail in Kauai, Hawaii. Kauai, aka the Garden Isle, is especially known for its nature, beautiful (botanical) gardens and natural parks, as well as the amazingly beautiful, rugged Na Pali coast.
  • Day 61 – This picture was taken in Brussels, Belgium. This city offers so many highlights that a weekend in Brussels is actually too short to see all the sights and the many beautiful museums. Read our tips!
  • Day 60 – This picture was taken in Vernazza, one of the picturesque coastal towns and idyllic villages within the famous Cinque Terre National Park in Italy. This area is a protected nature reserve with brightly coloured fishing villages at the foot of the sea cliffs.
  • Day 59 – This picture was taken in Moscow, Russia. For a long time, the fashionable city played a central role in the development of Russia and the world. For us and many others, the Kremlin is at the centre of Russia’s symbolism and rich history.
  • Day 58 – This picture was taken in the Taman Negara National Park, Malaysia. With its around 130-million-year history, this is the oldest tropical rainforest in the world, located a four-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. Expect to find exotic birds, monkeys, butterflies, wild boars, reptiles, waterfalls, etc.
  • Day 57 – This picture was taken in Wellington, the relaxed capital of New Zealand. Both islands of this ‘little Europe’ are one of our most favourite travel destionations. When in Wellington, the Te Papa Museum is a definite must visit!
  • Day 56 – This picture was taken in Bagan, Myanmar (Burma). A visit to the temples in and around Bagan is an absolute highlight of a trip through Myanmar. On many people’s bucketlists is a balloon flight at sunrise.
  • Day 55 – This picture was taken in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. For many tourists, this is a city where they can enjoy a tolerant lifestyle and the conviviality that Amsterdam offers. To let you see all the city’s highlights, though, it’s definitely worth taking a trip to Amsterdam for a few days!
  • Day 54 – This picture was taken at the rice terraces of Tegalalang, Bali, Indonesia, which are on the UNESCO world heritage list. We got there by e-Bike through the Ubud rice fields. This is undoubtedly one of the things you really must do in Bali!
  • Day 53 – This picture was taken in the royal botanic garden in Sydney, Australia. Initially, Sydney was founded in 1788 as a penal camp. IHowever, it is a city that we think is incredibly nice and it is certainly not a punishment to stay there for many days!
  • Day 52 – This picture was taken at the Allée des Baobabs. Here you will find a large number of beautiful baobabs. A visit to the Allée des Baobabs is one of the highlights of a holiday in Madagascar. Especially at sunset!
  • Day 51 – This picture was taken in St. Petersburg, also known as the Venice of the North. The second largest city in Russia is wonderfully spacious with wide avenues and roads and many canals. The city breathes culture, history and unprecedented beauty and splendour.
  • Day 50 – This picture was taken in Hobbiton, the charming village of Tolkien’s Hobbits in Lord of the Rings. You can visit all the shooting locations in New Zealand. It is situated on a family run farm about 5 miles west of Hinuera, North Island.
  • Day 49 – This picture was taken in the international Hanseatic city of Hamburg, the second largest city in Germany. Thanks to its interesting history and the pleasant international atmosphere, Hamburg is a fantastic destination for a city trip.
  • Day 48 – This picture was taken in San Francisco while cycling through this versatile city. The city is known for its steep hills, Alcatraz, the hippie culture from the past, and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. Yet there’s so much more to explore!
  • Day 47 – This picture was taken in Willemstad, Curaçao, the biggest of  all 6 Dutch Caribbean islands. This island is known for its culture and history, and the many beautiful, sheltered bays with pearl white beach sand and turquoise seas.
  • Day 46 – This picture was taken in the enchanting lagoon of Aitutaki, Cook Islands. We’ll publish a blog about this true tropical paradise sometime this spring…
  • Day 45 – This picture was taken in Taormina, Sicily. This rugged, beautiful and huge island in the south of Italy has a long, particularly rich history of foreign domination by e.g. the Greeks, Romans and Arabs. As a result, Sicily offers great cultural diversity.
  • Day 44 – This picture was taken in the city of Luang Prabang, Laos. Here, there is something for everyone. If you like special temples, you can be indulged here. But there is so much more to explore in Luang Prabang!
  • Day 43 – This picture was taken in the city of Nantes, France. The extraordinary history of Nantes as the former capital of the Dukes of Brittany, makes it a particularly attractive destination for a city break. As far as we are concerned, Nantes is an absolute must-see in France.
  • Day 42 – This picture was taken in the city that never sleeps. New York City has many highlights, actually too many to mention. You can have a great week here enjoying yourself and still feel that you have not seen everything.
  • Day 41 – This picture was taken in the French Alps close to Chamonix. The surroundings of Mont Blanc at Chamonix, with over 4810 meters Europe’s highest mountain, is particularly popular among skiers, mountaineers and hikers.
  • Day 40 – This picture was taken in Cuzco, Peru. Many travellers use Cuzco to acclimatise for a few days before starting out on the treks to the Machu Picchu Inca ruins. It’s a great city to spend quite a while in!
  • Day 39 – This picture was taken in Fiordland National Park in the southwest of the South Island, New Zealand. It’s one of the rainiest areas in the world, we believe it to be the most spectacular natural park in New Zealand. The area is a real paradise for hikers.
  • Day 38 – This picture was taken at the Machu Picchu, Peru. This mysterious Inca city near Cuzco is a true bucket list destination. If you are in Peru, a hiking trip to the Machu Picchu should definitely not be excluded from your itinerary.
  • Day 37 – This picture was taken in Valencia, Spain. This city, the charming old birthplace of the paella, is well worth a visit. In our blog we tell you why. and provide you with several must-sees!
  • Day 36 – This picture was taken at Sepilok Orang Oetan Rehabilitation Centre in Malaysian Borneo. This nature reserve was built in the 1960s to rehabilitate displaced orangutans. After this they can be returned to the wild.
  • Day 35 – This picture was taken in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, California. It’s one of the largest municipal nature parks in the United States. You will find many tree and plant species, as well as wild animals. The park offers great hiking opportunities.
  • Day 34 – This picture was taken at Siem Reap, Cambodia. It’s the city of temples with the phenomenal Angkor Wat as the largest temple. There are still more than 100 other temples, of which you must at least see some.
  • Day 33 – This picture was taken in the fascinating and charming city of Kraków, Poland. This city is a true historical and cultural jewel at the foot of the Carpathians. There is a reason why it’s the most popular Polish city with the tourists.
  • Day 32 – This picture was taken at Cape the Good Hope in South Africa. As one of the great capes of the South Atlantic Ocean, this cape has long been of special significance to sailors on the route to the Far East and Australia.
  • Day 31 – This picture was taken in the Dubai Marina, a city of superlatives. Nothing is too crazy. We have been there three times in the past seven years and each time Dubai seemed to have reinvented itself with new sights and activities each time.
  • Day 30 – This picture was taken of one of the rock churches in Lalibela, northern Ethiopia. The special rock churches of Lalibela from the 13th century are also called the eighth wonder of the world and a definite must-see in this part of Ethiopia.
  • Day 29 – This picture was taken in the wonderful, windward island of Sint Maarten / Saint Martin. The island is known among Americans as a great beach destination. Meanwhile, more and more Europeans are discovering the lovely island.
  • Day 28 – This picture was taken in the Cotopaxi National Park, Ecuador. You can explore the area of the volcano in different ways. We went on nice walks and on horseback, traditionally dressed, to various viewpoints.
  • Day 27 – This picture was taken at a wedding in Chuuk, one of the four states of the Federated States of Micronesia. We’ll publish a blog about several states of Micronesia sometime this summer…
  • Day 26 – This picture was taken at the ‘Chua Trong pagoda in Vietnam, better known as the Perfume Pagoda. It’s a very nice, beautiful and interesting day trip from Hanoi. A definite must-see in northern Vietnam!
  • Day 25 – This picture was taken in Cartagena, Colombia, one of the most beautiful, colourful and friendly cities in Latin America. We’ll publish a blog about Colombia sometime this autumn…
  • Day 24 – This picture was taken in the bay of Phang Nga, Thailand. This bay is known for its limestone rock formations. The most iconic rock in the bay is undoubtedly James Bond Island, where the recordings were made for ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’.
  • Day 23 – This picture was taken in Prague, Czechia, the beautiful, historical capital of Bohemia. We’ll publish a blog about Czechia sometime this autumn…
  • Day 22 – This picture was taken in the enchanting Stone Town, Zanzibar. It is not without reason that the city has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000. Just strolling through the narrow streets is a cultural experience in itself.
  • Day 21 – This picture was taken at Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, the world’s largest salt flats. This surreal landscape has an area of ​​no less than 12,000 kilometers. Due to the lack of perspective, you can take very special pictures.
  • Day 20 – This picture was taken at Grand Bassin, a crater lake situated in a secluded mountain area deep in the heart of Mauritius. It is considered the most sacred Hindu place in Mauritius.
  • Day 19 – This picture was taken during a day trip to Rainbow Mountain in Peru. The mountain range that looks like a rainbow is magical to see with one’s own eyes but you have to have a big climb of about three hours to get there!
  • Day 18 – This picture was taken in the south of Germany. The castle – Neuschwanstein – is one of the most popular of all the palaces and castles in Europe. The fairytale look of the Neuschwanstein castle inspired Walt Disney to create the Magic Kingdom.
  • Day 17 – This picture was taken in Tongarire National Park just south of Lake Taupo on the North Island of New Zealand. There are three active volcanoes in the park, of which one served as the backdrop for Mount Doom in Tolkien’s film ‘The Lord of the Rings’.
  • Day 16 – This picture was taken in the city of Mandalay, Myanmar (Birma). Myanmar is a true paradise for travellers. In our blog we explain why we found the visit to Myanmar the highlight of our journey through Southeast Asia.
  • Day 15 – This picture was taken in the beautiful, tropical island of Malapascua during a scuba diving holiday to the Philippines. We’ll publish a blog about the Philippines sometime this summer…
  • Day 14 – This picture was taken during a mountain bike tour along the lakes of Antsirabe, Madagascar. In our opinion, this is the best way to explore a region as you can stop anywhere you want to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and to make contact with the locals.
  • Day 13 – This picture was taken in the Blue Mountains, close to Sydney, Australia. It’s a beautiful, mountainous landscape that takes its name from the dense eucalyptus forests that give the sky a blue glow. You’ll find quiet villages, deep ravines, waterfalls and rich native flora and fauna.
  • Day 12 – This picture was taken in Yosemite National Park, California, USA. in the month of May. The biologically very diverse park is one of the first national parks in the US and offers magnificent hiking opportunities.
  • Day 11 – This picture was taken in Petra, Jordan. Petra is an ancient city carved out of sandstone and it’s one of the new seven wonders of the world.We’ll publish a blog about Jordan sometime this summer…
  • Day 10 – This picture was taken in Annecy, France. This touristic but idyllic town is sometimes called the “Venice of the Alps” because of the three canals and the Thiou River flowing through the old town. Besides a charming centre, Annecy offers various attractions and a spectactular landscape.
  • Day 9 – This picture was taken in Havana, Cuba. It’s one of the Greater Antilles and is increasingly accessible to tourists. The island offers beautiful nature and a very rich culture and history. We’ll publish a blog about Cuba probably sometime this summer…
  • Day 8 – This picture was taken in the stunning region of Raja Ampat, West Papua, Indonesia. The hilly islands are sparsely populated and densely covered with tropical rainforest. They are surrounded by healthy, particularly vibrant coral reefs and for that reason they are a popular diving destination.
  • Day 7 – This picture was taken on Oahu, Hawaii. This island is particularly known for Waikiki, Pearl Harbour and golf surfing. In our opinion, however, it’s the perfect getaway island where you can go on amazingly beautiful walks, varying from short walks of less than an hour to complete day trips.
  • Day 6 – This picture was taken at Halong Bay, Vietnam. It’s a beautiful, yet pretty crowded bay in Vietnam where hundreds of islands emerge from the sea with karst mountains. With a cruise you can see the bay at its best.
  • Day 5 – This picture was taken during the Gibbon Experience in Laos. Goal of your visit to Nam Kan National Park is to spot gibbons. To reach them, you zipline through the jungle and sleep in huge tree huts.
  • Day 4 – This picture was taken in the Loire valley, France. The Loire is the longest river in France with 1012 kilometers. In “the garden of France” you will find world famous castles and beautiful vineyards.
  • Day 3 – This picture was taken in Manado, Sulawesi (Indonesia). This part of Indonesia, just like West Papua, lies in the heart of the coral triangle. It is the area with the world’s largest marine biodiversity. But the north of this beautiful island of Sulawesi has so much more to offer than just amazing dive sites!
  • Day 2 – This picture was taken in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania. Of all the parks we visited in Tanzania we found the landscape of Tarangire National Park by far the most beautiful. Think of a sloping landscape full of Baobabs, elephants and giraffes.
